The Oshun Family

Kira

Founder + Teacher

Kira loves to move, and barely ever sits still. A hairdresser in the daytime and a Yogini by night, she is always moving and loves it! Meditation helps her to find stillness, in the mind and the body; and she loves a Vinyasa just as much as a Nidra session. Balance is the essence of life. Her classes are always a journey of breath, meditation and movement. She began Oshun to help others find the true path of this ancient Indian practice- connecting mind, body and spirit.

Bel

Bel's love for being on the mat has come from her own experience of yoga expanding her life. With her ashtanga yoga training in India and her Tantric yoga training in both Thailand and Melbourne, Bel brings an experience for your body, mind and spirit to her yoga classes. Bel deepened her knowledge of the physical body by studying Pilates and she feels the two working together is an invaluable combination. Her intention is to inspire her students to use yogic tools and philosophy off the mat to take it into their daily lives. Bel believes that self awareness, presence and coming from a heart space is key, and chooses to teach from this place.

Yoga transformed me! After years of practice I finally went to Vietnam and did my formal training with Saigon Om. In my classes you will experience Hatha, Yin, breath work, meditation and intention setting. I love to laugh and try not to take life too seriously, you will find I love to smile a lot of the class and bring out our Yogi smiles during practice - our purpose in life is to purely be happy, and I love guiding you to live a little and to laugh.

Chris

Chris's yoga journey all began in 2018 when he planted the seed to commit living a more peaceful, graceful and harmonious lifestyle. The more he experienced the powerful benefits of the practice, the more curious and inspired he became. After 2 years of practicing yoga, Chris completed his yoga teacher training in India, where his curiosity was satisfied through learning and engaging in the essence and philosophy of the practice more deeply. Since then, it became Chris’ soulful purpose to share his ongoing and evolving knowledge and experience of the sacred practice to all beings he comes across throughout his journey. Chris has a background in traditional hatha, vinyasa, ashtanga, and yin yoga. Chris also has a background in multi-instrumental sound healing. In his classes, Chris aspires students to feel more connected, grounded, energised, calm, and graceful at the end of class compared to the start.

Maryanne started practicing yoga 15 years ago as a way to connect with others and deal with anxiety. Three years ago, after some soul searching it was the right timing for her to enrol and complete her Yoga teacher training. This inspired her to experience more as she went on to complete her Yoga Therapy training in Byron Bay. We are constantly learning every day and yoga is something that keeps her curious and grounded in life. Maryanne’s passion is to bring people a subtle yoga practice to gently flow whilst supporting their nervous system with a deep connection of breath, body & mind

Belinda always lived a fast paced life. Fittingly, her yoga journey began as a way of reducing stress. Unexpectedly, it completely transformed her life and offered a path for deep self exploration and healing. She has come to learn that yoga, like life, is a meditation in motion, an opportunity for our entire being to move intuitively and organically.Nowadays, Belinda is a yoga teacher and crystal healer devoted to holding space, nurturing and journeying with every individual. She enjoys tailoring her classes and offering an experience through which students can slow down, reconnect and surrender.

Briohney

Briohney’s journey began when she discovered yoga through dance to assist with transforming anxiety. Falling in love with movement as a healing art, she noticed a similar language between the two forms as tools to build confidence, body awareness and ultimately reduce stress. With a genuine approach to facilitating a nurturing space, her classes are expansive and fluid, restorative yet grounded. Weaved together in a moving meditation to embody each moment with every breath whilst cultivating inner steadiness to extend from the mat and into everyday life.

Marcus

I have 6 years clinical experience working as an Ambulance Paramedic and came to yoga around 5 years ago when I was suffering with lower back pain as well as struggling with my mental health. I fell head over heels with the practice and have incorporated it heavily into my day to day life ever since.

In my classes I like to focus on functional movements in order to help my students develop good habits that can be applied to life off the mat. I have seen first hand the increasing incidence of lifestyle diseases and mental health problems. I firmly believe that the classes we provide here can give the individual the autonomy to develop strength, resilience and feel good.

Simon

I was introduced to Yoga in 2021 and have managed to fall more and more in love with the practice everyday since.

Yoga has been the back bone of my physical, spiritual and emotional journey back to myself. I now have the pleasure of developing my practice as a devoted student and teacher.

I like to give my students the space to fulfill the intention for their practice, in their own way. Whether it be for a physical, spiritual, emotional or mental purpose. So expect space, gentle guidance, pranayama, dynamic movement and a bit of fun in between.

Nadia

Nadia began yoga from a place of curiosity, which soon became a transformational journey in many areas of her life - mentally, emotionally, socially and spiritually. Through the practice she continues to feel drawn to dive deeper, moved by the way yoga can provide a space for self-discovery, expression and connection within. After completing her Yoga Teacher Training, she feels inspired to share yoga's transformative power with others and hold space for everyone to connect to their own magic within.
