Infrared Sauna FAQs
What is the benefit of using an Infrared Sauna?
Infrared saunas are significantly different from your traditional high heat, high moisture sauna experience. Longer sessions with lower temperatures and zero humidity helps your body to heat up gently while maximizing the benefits of an intense sweat session, generating a sweat 7x more detoxifying than a traditional sauna. Increased circulation, detoxification and immune system boosting are all wonderful effects from Infrared therapy.
Should I shower before or after my Infrared session?
We don't have showers available. Showering before your session will help you "sweat clean". It is best to wait one to two hours after finishing your Infrared session before taking a shower, as the benefits of the sauna will continue after your session is finished.
What is the best thing to wear during my Infrared session?
It is recommended that you wear a towel or a bathing suit; this will help ensure that you have the best experience possible while visiting our Infrared sauna. ***Oils and lotions can be damaging to the Infrared sauna; therefore, please do not apply oils, lotions or perfumes before your session.
Should I bring a towel with me to my session?
Yes! One to two towels is perfect. Please bring one towel to dry off with. We will have towels available in the sauna but please bring one along with you for when your session is finished (or should you need to dry down in between)
What if the sauna feels too hot for me?
Unlike regular saunas, Infrared saunas are set to a lower temperature. This helps your body heat up gently while still providing an intense sweat session. Most people are able to comfortably sit through a 30 minute session without feeling too overheated. You're welcome to open the door for air as needed.
How frequently should I go in for Infrared sessions?
Infrared saunas provide the best results the more frequently they are used. We recommend 1-3 times per week.
Can I use my phone in the sauna?
Yes! You are more than welcome to use your phone during your session. However, this is a great opportunity to set your phone down and have 30-45 mins of uninterrupted minutes to relax and let your stress melt away. We suggest bringing a book or meditating instead.
Does my period affect my ability to use the Infrared sauna?
Not at all. You are still able to keep your scheduled appointments. Actually, the Infrared sauna has been known to help with relief from cramping and bloating. Please note that the Infrared sauna may result in a temporary increase in flow.
Are there any age restrictions on the Infrared sauna?
We ask that all our Infrared sauna clients are 18 or older.
What if I am pregnant or taking medication?
It is best to talk to your doctor first. Please be sure to take the precautions necessary. The Infrared Sauna will heat your core body temperature; this could affect the way your body handles medication.
Should I eat before/after my session?
Eat a couple hours before coming in for your session. This will allow you to properly digest your food. Feel free to eat after your session. Drink lots of water before, during and after your session. Stay hydrated! We have a great Waters Co filter in the sauna room to keep you well hydrated too.
Where can I make an appointment?
Book online, on Momence or give us a call and we will help you set up an appointment.
What if I have to cancel or I am running late to the session?
You must cancel 48 hours prior to your appointment. If you do not show up to your appointment you will still be charged full price for the session.
